it's been one year since ADELAIDE moved
into her "BIG GIRL ROOM"
full bed from her great-great-grandparents
side bed rails go up for naptime and nighttime

the GREEN walls seem to dance in the sunlight

painted by daddy, grandpa jim, and chic
her PINK bedding seems to smile back at you when you walk in
fabrics from cabbage rose in ft. worth

throw pillows from land of nod and pottery barn kids
the pint-sized vanity is just right for grins, stuffed animals, and baby dolls
bought at an antique store in abilene found by grandma bobbie
all whitewash painting done by daddy and mel
the cooking corner, where pretend tasty treats are made each day

bulletin board made by momma and daddy
her dresser is filled with clothes and beloved dress-up costumes
wedding present from grandma bobbie and grandpa curt
her closet runneth over
filled to the brim with toys, bows, and clothes
toy organizer from the lehanes
baskets help my sanity and develop her independence
as she puts up her shoes and dirty clothes or can reach her own socks and panties
i LOVE the way this room came together.
but truth be known,
i'm especially fond of this room because of this girl who plays in it.
