THIS SUMMER IS THE SEASON...

for goodbyes.

this past week has been filled with endings.

last day to teach (at least for awhile)

last time to eat at chuys, hang out here,
get together impromptu-ly, etc. etc.
with kristin and clay
last time to have live-in grandma babysitters while i work

and quite possibly the last time my family will visit us in austin

i also know this summer is the season...
for new beginnings.

the beginning of being a full-time stay at home mom

the beginning of the fulghums grand adventure in kansas city

our move to houston
and evan's real adult full-time job

with the ending of one chapter comes the beginning of another.

goodbyes are never easy for me.
but i am glad to know the power of being thankful for each season of life
and i'm starting to anticipate the fresh new adventure too.

Yay! School's out! Didn't know that Kristen was moving to KC. I'm there right now visiting some old friends! How weird is that? It's a fun town. Went to the power and light district last night and had way too much fun.

So excited for you as you begin your new adventure as a stay-at-home-mommy. Doesn't seem real yet, does it? I love how perfectly you worded this time of transition!

Goodbyes are always hard but I will gladly say goodbye to Georgia if it means Ben has a "real adult job" instead of "law student with a very limited income!" Good luck being a full time stay at home mom, I think you'll love it! I hope I can do that one day!

Hi there! I wanted to say hello, I'm one of those "browsers" of blogs (I like browse better than stalker, ha!). I've linked to your blog off of Kelly's, who did your design make-over. It's beautiful, by the way :-) I just thought it was neat because I, too, was a teacher before I stayed home with my daughter, Abby. (She's 13 months now), and we actually live in the Houston area. We're in Humble. So, I wanted to welcome you when ya'll move. I don't know if you'll be more on the south side or north side, but I still wanted to say hi anyway! I know moving to a new place is overwhelming sometimes, and I know you don't know me at all, but we love meeting new people, and we'd welcome you to our home anytime :-)
We wish you the best!
Blessings!

Change is so hard for me too! I'm excited you, too, will be a stay at home mommy-- SO fun!! Can't wait to hear about Houston adventures-- I LOVE Houston. And PS... who's the kindergarten joker in the front row acting as if he needs to go potty?! Ha ha! That cracked me up!

Change is always hard for me. But, Houston has a Chuys, too! Thinking about you guys...

Hey sweet Annalee, the new picture of your family is absolutely adorable. You look like the perfect little family and I know you guys are so glad that Evan is out of school and getting a "real" paying job. :)
I'm so glad that you are getting to stay at home with that precious baby girl. You will never regret staying at home with her, even though you will miss teaching and the teaching world will certainly miss you. You are a fantastic teacher and anyone would be honored to have you teach their child.
Please keep in touch and give me a call when you come to Abilene.
Still miss you bunches!
Love,
Laurie Irby :)

I know how hard it is to leave friends and a place you love, but i am so excited for this next chapter in your life! Can we please have some Houston adventures? Because now that you are going to be living so close, so there is NO excuse for not having at least one swim date! And we'll have to have you and E over for dinner one night. Love you!
