FAMILY TIME AND LOCAL FIELD TRIPS...

I am quite thankful for the six years Evan worked at his first job out of law school.
The way it provided for our family. The experiences had and people met.
And now we welcome the beginning of the next season for our family too as he begins his next job.
The details of God's faithfulness all along the way and getting this job will always blow us away.

Even in the midst of adjustments we knew what a special time it was
to have some out-of-the-ordinary flexibility in our schedule just before Evan started his new job.
We did our best to soak up a surplus of family fun days, extra quality time, and memories.

These memories will never be forgotten by your children. -Ezra Taft Benson

WOODLANDS CHILDREN'S' MUSEUM
This is a smaller scale of the main Houston Children's Museum that was great for the ages of our kids and they loved it.

DAY TRIP TO BRENHAM
Here we toured the Blue Bell Creamery, dined at the Southern Flyer Diner, and splashed at the Brenham Aquatics Center.

THE RAINFOREST CAFE
Sometimes it's fun to be a tourist in your own city, eating here and walking around the Galleria definitely felt like just that.

GALVESTON BEACH
We went twice and took the public ferry to Bolivar Peninsula and liked the less crowded area. The beach was piled high with seaweed but we have learned to have fun in the sand regardless of how pretty it was. We liked dinner at Nick's or dessert at LaKing's before heading home too.

CROCODILE ENCOUNTER
Just outside of Angleton, in someone's backyard, a surplus of reptiles exist. We made reservations for a family tour here
and it ended up being so interesting to all of us, and one of our most unexpected fun days together.

ASTROS GAME
During Evan's last week at the firm he called late one afternoon to see if we all wanted to come up to his downtown office
one more time and help pack it up. Conveniently the Astros were playing at home that night
so we decided to get cheap seats and grab dinner there while we watched some of the game beforehand too.
As we walked up to the box office a stranger approached me and asked if the baby needed her own ticket.
When I said no, she told me she had four tickets for great seats that she couldn't use and had been waiting to find a family
she could give them to instead. She handed us the tickets and we stood there in shock then she was walked off.
She will probably never know what a neat and special experience it turned the whole night into for all of us.
It was such a sweet bonus fun night together as we closed one door and got ready to open another.

Now, Evan is settling well into his new job
and we all are back to our more normal day-to-day routines.
And I will continue to give thanks for the past and present
as well as those bonus family moments we all got the gift of sharing!

The happiest moments of my life have been the few
which have passed at home in the bosom of my family. -Thomas Jefferson
