30 years ago my favorite guy was born.

1. he is witty and clever.
2. he can make people laugh better than anyone i've ever met.
3. he is completely comfortable being the center of attention.
4. but doesn't need to be the center of attention to be comfortable.

5. he is practical and level-headed.
6. yet he knows how to throw caution to the wind now and then.
7. he is generous.
8. he is mature beyond his years.
9. he doesn't take himself too seriously.
10. he can identify with people half his age or twice his age.

11. he sings bluegrass, hymns and musicals equally well.
12. he knows every single word to more songs than a jukebox.
13. he has a talent for changing the original words in a song to narrate any situation.
14. there's no one i'd rather sing alongside.
15. or attend a concert with.

16. he is a great driver.
17. his brain came with a built-in gps.
18. he has a knack for finding rockstar parking.
19. he is the best chauffeur around.

20. he knows how to swaddle and shush.
21. baby days and toddler years don't phase him.
22. he takes over bath time and bedtime.
23. the way he talks to our babies makes me melt.
24. the games he comes up with are one-of-a-kind.
25. he willingly works hard then comes home and plays hard.

26. he stays up as late as i do.
27. he listens to me.
28. then somehow puts my confused thoughts into a simple sentence.
29. he prays with me and for me.
30. he challenges me to grow while reminding me to rely on grace.
