"THE OLDER YOU GET THE FEWER SLUMBER PARTIES THERE ARE." -Drew Barrymore

a fact about me: i love slumber parties.
evidently my kids inherited this gene too.
they were both easy to transition from crib to big kid bed when the time came.
our challenges came when those big kid beds were in the same room.
there are much worse problems, and i am thankful they get along well for the most part.
but when it comes to bedtime the partying far outweighed the slumber.
after a few months they are finally settling into some kind of sleep routine again.
and deep down i am glad they will have plenty of fun slumber party memories from sharing a room.
it continues to be a work in progress,
but i love how their big kid room turned out.
and more importantly they seem to love it as well.
they are at fun ages (almost 5 and 3) to share a room
and it is neat to watch it become their own place over time.
each kid uses one of the dressers for folded clothes.
and then the closet is filled for maximum use of space,
complete with tubs of toys, a rack of boy clothes, a rack of girl clothes and lots of shelves.
beds from ikea, beding from pottery barn kids and target,
paint from benjamin moore- conventry gray, rug from land of nod,
globe lamp, letters, and various other decorations found at warrenton antique show,
shelves from lowes, toy kitchen from kidkraft, dressers gifts from my grandparents,
usa map found here, animal tutorial found here, and canvas painting tutorial found here.
hands down my favorite part of this room is the two kids who call it their own!

I love the room! We are in the middle of a room transition, too. I say ALL THE TIME every night is like a slumber party!

So cute!

I would love if my two little ones would share a room like my older two. But they are boy and girl, maybe I can convince Bobby by showing him y'alls example. :)

What a cute room! My son and daughter just started sharing a room so I'm looking for ideas on how to decorate a boy/girl room. Where did you find the cute striped comforters?

Oh, it is perfect! I LOVE it!

Where did you get your nightlight? I've been looking for one like it, and haven't found one yet. :)
