FIRST IMPRESSIONS ON THE FIRST...

my FIRST IMPRESSION of AS OUR OWN

last spring, i learned about AS OUR OWN.
my heart was touched by the name and their mission.
you can read all about it on their website,
or in short- "AS OUR OWN is a Christ-based, community-driven movement in India that rescues
vulnerable children from certain enslavement and exploitation, caring for them AS OUR OWN."

of course i want to help others.
but when i really stop to think about the children in need AS OUR OWN CHILDREN,
well, honestly that is a whole new level of compassion for me.
my heart was not only touched, it was pricked.

we have a friend from our college days, that has seen this ministry in action firsthand.
she has gone to india to assist AS OUR OWN using a week of her vacation from work,
she was touched beyond measure by what is happening there.
she is returning again this year to do the same.
our pastor and his wife are board members for AS OUR OWN.
we trust their hearts and decisions.
we trust the leadership is seeking to follow Christ's plans.
this ministry is real,
so are it's needs.

i have committed to walk a half-marathon this month in honor of this cause.
as i have trained i have been praying for the lives that are touched by AS OUR OWN.
for them to know what the father's love looks like through others who reach out here on earth.

i would appreciate any prayers.
and i know i'm not the only one who says thank you in advance.
if you are able to donate to this worthy cause.
it will be used to love someone, AS YOU LOVE YOUR OWN.

maybe you can donate a dollar for each mile i will walk in the event (13.1 miles- $13),
maybe you can donate a dollar for the number of miles i have logged so far in training (165 miles- $165),
or maybe you can donate another amount, it will be greatly appreciated.
to do so you can click here or visit https://iwillrun.myetap.org/fundraiser/sanantonio/
and search "annalee" to find my page.

thank you in advance for any prayers and donations.

below is a short video to explain more about why i am walking!
