...we remember.
ten years ago today i was a junior in college sitting in a communications class when the news broke.
it was the only class i had that day, the rest were cancelled.
when someone sitting next to me in class told me what was going on, i didn't believe them.
we were dismissed from class and all walked shell-shocked to the campus center.
as we stood in crowds watching the tv's mounted there, i watched as the other tower was hit.
that's when it began to sink in; this was not an accident.
we remember.
as i watched this video summarizing the events of september 11, 2001, i second evan's thoughts on it:
"I remember watching most of this as it happened. It's almost harder to watch it now than at the time."
we remember.
this event still seems unbelievable ten years later.
i had walked under the twin towers without much more than a second glance,
wrongly assuming they would always be.
later i walked by the rubble and the makeshift tributes set out for those who lost their lives.
i now look forward to visiting the rising of the twin towers and honoring those who cannot.
we remember.
this month we have watched several shows on the discovery channel about "the rising."
they showcase the future plans well and share a sampling of the countless stories from 9/11
(below is just one video, many more found at this website- http://dsc.discovery.com/tv/the-rising).
we eagerly look forward, but
we will always remember.

That day, the meaning of "military wife" changed for me. So many lives have been dramatically altered in the past 10 years. Praise God we have hope in Him!
