well, truth be told i didn't either until last week.
evan's family has quite a history of creative birthday parties.
there has been a rockstar party, pink party, football party, pajama party, dog party, wii party, 80's party, flower party, m&m party, dress like the honoree party, first annual 39th party, home party, mustache party, fondue party, christmas vacation party, game party, and many, many more.
just when i think we might run out of possibilities someone suggests something new and planning the details of each event is almost as much fun as the party itself.
since we have lived in houston evan has requested a crawfish boil for his birthday each year. his 26th was a standard boil, 27th was a derby boil (in conjunction with the kentucky derby), and since of course another plain old crawfish party isn't quite creative enough for his 28th, the birthday spiderman crawfish boil was created.
this might be one of the most random themes yet.
he isn't even a big spiderman fan,
but he is a fan of theme parties and this one did not disapoint.
you can always count on impressive crawfish consumption.
one of my favorite parts of the crawfish boil is our uncle michael takes care of purchasing, touching, purging, and boiling the crawfish to perfection. meanwhile i merely set out newspaper and paper towels, then toast the bread for five minutes and act all domestic as i serve it.
you have to hand it to the whole family-
everyone is pros at going along with whatever the theme is by now.
i absolutely love this.
this year some dressed the part with spiderman t-shirts.
while others threw in just a splash of spider-wear
by sporting the stylish socks with sandals look.
vanilla cupcakes were made using this recipe,
then enhanced thanks to tubes of icing in the appropriate colors.
moeller's bakery gingerbread men are a given for evan's birthday each year,
but this year gingys went undercover and wore masks to fit in a little better.
the gingys weren't the only ones to go undercover.
many members of the family found themselves going back and forth
between peter parker and spiderman too thanks to paper masks.
happy, happy birthday

So many things to comment on but the one that takes the cake is the headlamp while blowing out the candles!
I always thought Evan could be a double for Peter Parker.
Awesome I love it :) I also love the previous post with you in your wedding dress! So fantastic!!
