NINE DAYS AGO I TURNED 31.

NINE HAPPENINGS ON MY BIRTHDAY WEEKEND GETAWAY:

1) my favorite guy and i skipped town and landed in gruene, tx.

4) we ate dinner at the gristmill again the next night.

5) we stayed in the wonderful gruene mansion inn's gast haus and loved it.

6) the next day was filled with eating, shopping, walking, and reading an entire novel.

7) we topped off a great day, by going to my first concert (reckless kelly) in gruene hall.

8) on our way back home we got to eat lunch in new braunfels with nana and papa.

9) the kids didn't even know to miss us because they were busy living it up with chic and jim.

NINE THINGS I DID ON MY BIRTHDAY:

6) unfortunately, had to dole out a spanking or two.

7) enjoyed phone calls with family and friends that i love soo much.

8) dined on homemade spaghetti sauce, fuzzy's salad, cookie cake, and cheesecake.

hope you had a fabulous birthday - it sure sounds like it! we lived in texas when i was younger and we used to make frequent trips to the bluebell creamery - we LOVED it! some of my favorite memories are trips there with my family. when we moved to ga they didn't sell bluebell ice cream here and we were devastated - ha! the day that they finally started carrying it was a joyful day for our entire family!! :)

Your resolution about going to bed on the same day you woke up had me thinking there for a minute. I couldn't figure out what that meant! Ha!
And I heard the Blue Bell Creamery has a really neat swimming place across the street, so the summertime would be the best time to go there.

So fun that y'all went to Gruene... I went there growing up every summer and now it is my and David's favorite weekend getaway place. We stay at Gruene Mansion Inn too!

I'm just now reading this, and although it may be two weeks late, I have to say that your birthday looked fantastic! I'm also with you on the getting places on time. Such a challenge for me alone. Who knows what will happen when I have kids. Eek!
