even after cooking this recipe, i still don't really know what braised means.
i'm going to use context clues though and guess it means chicken cooked in a yummy way.
if that is the correct definition, then i can testify that braised is the perfect adjective for this chicken.
*prior to trying this recipe, all members of our family would have told you we disliked radishes.
however, there was not a leftover radish to be found after we ate this dinner. they taste great in it!

i also added some red bell pepper that i had in the fridge.
i bet you could add just about any veggies and they would work well.
**i have only made this in a dutch oven, but before i had one i would have used our large pot instead.
i think the important things are for it to be large enough to hold everything and have a lid.
now finally, how about the recipe:

4 carrots, cut into sticks
(*and any other veggies if you choose)

I want a dutch oven. Maybe I should put it on the Christmas wish list? Going to try this chicken as soon as I get one. :) Looks yummy!!
Well, thanks to some of your family friends (i.e. Mrs. Varner) braised is considered browning the food and cooking it in some type of liquid for the duration of the recipe! A little cooking 101!
I'm always trying to find new ways to make chicken. This looks really good! Thanks for sharing ;)
I am so proud. I just don't think it would taste as good not in an adorable turquoise dutch oven!
Love our LC pots! Have you tried their stoneware? I'm a fan... you can't go wrong with any of their products!
We braise a lot and it is basically searing something and then slow cooking until it is very tender. Looks delish. Love all of your monogrammed items. i monogram a lot too. May I ask were that gorgeous periwinkle damask dress is from? LOVE it!
