RIBBONS, RIBBONS EVERYWHERE...

quite awhile ago we went to a neighborhood library storytime. the theme of the morning was colors, and my favorite part of the time was when the librarian brought out a basket full of ribbon wands. each child chose one from the basket and then we sang "the hokey pokey." she changed the words to "put the blue ribbons in, take the blue ribbons out," "put the yellow ribbons in, take the yellow ribbons out," etc.

as i looked at the simple ribbon wand in adelaide's hand, i decided to make some of our own to have at home. imagine my delight when we were at hobby lobby and i saw this bag of ribbons already cut in a variety of colors for less than two dollars. we carried it and a bag of popsicle sticks to the checkout and got busy having fun with the colors of the rainbow.

SUPPLIES:
ribbons in a variety of colors
wide popsicle sticks
hot glue or masking tape

DIRECTIONS:
attach one ribbon to the end of each popsicle stick
have fun playing and learning together

What a fantastic way to use ribbon and popsicle sticks! I think we may need to make some of those. :)

Do you remember our Camp Shiloh dancing ribbons!!! Those were possibly the best dancing ribbons, and I must say Teresa, Katie, myself, and you were the best ribbon dancing ladies ever to grace the stage. I believe you need to teach Adelaide not only her colors but some awesome dance moves as well.
