*sleep a few minutes later knowing your hair should be worn in a ponytail. slip into your favorite pair of jeans and softest (because it's been washed 100 times) school shirt, because everyone knows "casual friday" is the way to go. make sure to add a splash of polka dots somewhere to your outfit.
*squeal with delight when "eye of the tiger" comes on the radio the instant you start your drive to work. begin pumping fists in the air like you were trained by rocky himself to do so. drum the beat of the song on your steering wheel. belt out the words (when they finally start after the forever long intro). when you realize your an "eye of the tiger" poser since you only know the real words to the chorus continue making up your own lyrics for the verses anyway, and of course continue your best air boxing moves while driving.
*greet each student at the door with a big "GOOD MORNING!" and pass along the friday funday spirit.
*sing the school song with gusto and take a moment to smile at the way every 6 year old in your presence knows the words as if it's a song as easy to sing as "happy birthday."
*play fun tunes while students are working and learning. i highly recommend dr. jean or any kid playlist made by evan.
*eat lunch with sweet co-workers who thankfully don't turn every conversation into gossip and you truly enjoy chatting with.
*be able to laugh at yourself when a students calls you on a mistake. take the opportunity to apply your own lesson- "we all make mistakes, the important part is to try our best to fix it."
*listen to the tales of a wonderful friday stay-at-home dad. smile from ear-to-ear as you can imagine each situation perfectly.
*check the mail and try your best to only jump for joy two or three times, when you realize a new catalog and new real simple came on the same day.
*load up the car with the family and turn up the static for baby to fall asleep for a late afternoon nap.
*drive to local cafe and order yummy tomato soup and tasty panini. sit at a table for 2 and a 1/2. chat with husband about anything and everything while baby snoozes in her carrier.
*don't forget to get a coffee drink (souped up with sugar and cream) on the way home.
*if a back rub is offered, accept. snuggle up on the couch and watch a movie you've already seen a million times so it won't matter when you fall asleep before the end.

How cute! I also sleep in longer when I realize that I can just throw my hair in a ponytail! I loved the part about listening to Evan tell you about the day. I always want to hear EVERY detail and try to imagine each scenario! Precious picture!

Hi, I got to your blog from Kelly's. I've been a bit of a blog stalker, never commenting but checking on you guys occasionally. I am also a teacher so I enjoy hearing about that aspect of your life as well. Also, your little girl is so cute! I know you will enjoy your summer with her! Thanks for letting me stalk your blog! ;-)
What a perfect day!
Now that sounds like a perfect Friday!!!
Love your Friday. Every teacher needs to do a ponytail, school shirt, and maybe even throw a Sonic drink in there for Fridays at school!
She is ADORABLE...and that is a FABULOUS Friday! :)

I love your perspective and joy at the little things. That's why you're still LB's "bestest" kindergarten teacher ever!
Sounds like a fun Friday! I love it when I find my Cyndi Lauper CD for a little 'Girls Just Wanna Have Fun' on a Friday morning. That always got Taylor kicking while I was pregnant!
So sweet. Love it!!
