now before anyone goes and gets offended by the above napkin, i am (mostly) just kidding! i love my job as a teacher. i love my job as a mom. it is tough stuff doing both. this week going back to work has been much better than i thought it would be in some ways, and ridiculously hard in others. once i get to school each morning i have loved being with my students. it is amazing how much they have progressed and so neat to see how they turned into little writers and readers while i was gone. during the day for the most part i am doing pretty well being away from sweet adelaide. i know this is thanks to the comfort i have knowing she is being loved on all day in amazing ways. however, when i have gotten home each evening i have felt spent and completely exhausted. i've been surprised that once i got home is when things have gotten hardest. the emotions of the day catch up with me and i feel so frustrated with myself that i am too tired to just love on my girl and hold her the way i want to. i now have a new appreciation for full-time working moms. you amaze me. and i've been reminder that whatever your job (working girl, stay-at-home mom, working parent, or other) work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men. 2 DAYS DOWN, 38 DAYS TO GO...

Thank you for working for our family.
Love you.
Awww, sweet Evan comment. Wonderful post. I can completely relate with being too exhausted when you get home to love on the baby like you want to. I look forward to coming home all day, and then I get discouraged by how tired the work day has made me. You sound like you are juggling both well, though. You've always been a wonderful multi-tasker, and being a great wife-mommy-teacher is no different.
What a sweet post and a sweet comment from Evan. Still praying for you everyday!

ps-I for one love the napkin and I might steal it to put as my new blog header-don't tell Keri!
Summer is just around the corner, hang in there!!
I can imagine it's tough! I don't know how working parents do it, either. Thank you for sharing your heart!
Soon, your husband will be a lawyer. :) Then.......you can leave those napkins on your table. :)
I KNOW you are doing a great job!!!!
I totally understand how you feel. I have to really work on leaving my frustrations with my students at school, and not bring it home with me! At times, I find myself frustrated with Camden for no reason...only because I am stressed with things going on at school. Jay always tells me that Camden knows how much I love her, and that it is okay to be exausted and need rest! I am thinking about you and sweet Adalaide!
As a bright-eyed young woman once said, "I was born to make babies." You're going against your nature, but it's only for a few more months! Hang in there!
You will be in my prayers, Annalee! I know it must tug at your heart to leave Adelaide at home. Know that the Lord sees you and that you are His hands and His heart to your stundents.

Hey Annalee,
I don't know if you remember me, but I am Brittney (Allison) Patterson. I went to Abilene Christian Academy in 2nd grade and you and I were best friends!!! We had Mrs. Reid! Anyways, I don't know how I found your blog actually, but I just couldn't believe it was you! So nice to see your cute family and your precious daughter!!!

I have no idea who full time working moms do it. I'm worn out just working full time with no kids. But staying home is hard work too.
I'm glad you get the best of both worlds - you get to teach but you will also get your summer and Christmas and spring break off!
Thinking of you through what i'm sure must be a tough week!
Hang in there! I went back to work full time after 6 weeks off. It was the hardest thing ever. I remember the range of emotions. I can't say that it ever is totally ok, but the Lord will take care of you. I love the last line of your post. That is a good reminder for me!
Thank you!!! I really needed this reminder. I am struggling BIG TIME right now. It is VERY hard being a mother to three precious boys and working full-time. I love what I do, but I don't feel like I'm doing any of it as well as I could or should. Thank you for reminding me of this very important scripture. I appreciate you!!!

Hang in there because your kids at school are very lucky to have you teaching them again! I figure if you can do it then I'll be able to do it in June when I have to leave Taylor at home and come back to work!
Summer is almost here & hopefully you will have the summer free!

I can't imagine how hard it must be for you, but I am so confident that you are making such an impact on your sweet class!! They are so lucky to have you for their teacher.
And your sweet Hub's comment....WOW! What a great supportive husband you have!! I'll join you in your count down till summer!
Oh, and I am adding you to my favorite blogs b/c it's true!! I just love reading it!
Believe it or not, it gets better. Not easier, but better. You figure out a rhythm and just roll with it. Not sure who said it, but I love the quote. "the grass is always greener, but just as hard to mow." Hang in there!
ps - that evan mccord is too sweet for words! :)
Oh I am in a MAJOR countdown for school to be OVER! You can do it! Your kids need you!
I also need pics from antique show!
