today is one of those dips on the emotional roller coaster of life
(or more specifically the emotional roller coaster of pregnancy).
i just felt sad i can't help mel paint her new house right now,
and sad about leaving ev for a few days and berk for the weekend,
and i gained 2 more pounds pretty much overnight even though i have been eating really well and walking daily,
and I am really sad we only have a little while longer in houston and ready for our own home all at the same time,
and i feel caught up with things of this world instead of eternal things all morning for some reason.
i know all of these things are really alright, but i am just fighting it right now.
it is funny to me how these feeling sneak up at times when i would expect them the least.
i am so excited about going to the lake with family today and tomorrow and my dr. appt. and hearing the baby's heartbeat again on friday and going to kansas city this weekend.
i have so much joy in my heart but somehow this sadness came creeping in next to it!
so as i work on attitude and putting the focus back on all the things i have to be thankful for my verse is psalm 46:10-
"be still and know that i am God;
i will be exalted among the nations,
i will be exalted in the earth.
the Lord Almighty is with us!"
i will be exalted among the nations,
i will be exalted in the earth.
the Lord Almighty is with us!"

Thank you for your honest post ... I am feeling some of these same "dips" right now! You're on my heart and I will lift you up in prayer today! May tomorrow be a HIGH on the roller coaster of life/pregnancy!Love you!
Honesty is a good thing. I have had some many ups and downs lately-I think being pregnant really magnifies emotions that might otherwise not be such a big deal. I'll be praying for you. (and I have to say, do NOT worry about gaining weight! You need to gain some weight to have a healthy baby-just concentrate on that and not on the scale! :) )
Thanks for being honest. A lot of times people only write about how great everything is and it can make me feel like something's wrong with me if I don't feel like that. I sympathize with you and appreciate you.
I pray that your time with family will be an encouragement to you and that this low point will not last long. You are such a precious child of God and I know that you will seek Him through this sad time.

I appreciate your honesty too:) I can empathize with so many of your emotions being in such a similar place in life as you...I hope your on the "up" side of the coaster and you enjoy all the things coming up in your future...hooray for heartbeats!!
Hang in there girl! I do have a few things to say regarding the emotional state of the pregnancy/delivery/ recovery period of life: God is TOTALLY in control! Everyone is different. Stop worrying about weight gain and enjoy the one time in life when you can eat a little bit of contraband, put on some poundage a no one questions it because hey, you're with child! As long as we're being honest: I packed on more than my allotted "30 pounds" during my first 2 pregs., I lost it in between babies and now I'm packin' it on again with the third! So, take good care of yourself, but remember, you have the rest of your life to diet and exercise and look like the true hot mama that you are!
Annalee, that is so weird that you posted a entry about "honesty", because I definitely just posted an entry about my bad day, too. It's good to know life is not always "glamours". Hope you have a better day tomorrow! By-the-way, I am totally addicted to your blog now, can I link you to mine?!?
I second Kate's reply. Thanks for your honesty... I will certainly say a prayer for you, specifically!!
I love your honesty Annalee! Just wanted to let you know everytime I check your blog I'm hoping there are belly shots. I can't wait to see your cute little pregnant belly!
I hate the up and down days myself and I wonder if it's hormones or spiritual warfare. I honestly think it's both but mostly warfare. I think he loves to mess with our joy in Christ and I walk around the house saying "Jesus" quite often b/c I know he can't stand The Name. He that is in you is greater than he that is in the world. You are a treasured possesstion of the Most High God and so is the little one within you. Blessings in Him, my dear friend! M
P.S. Annalee, I read your comment on Cassie's blog about Sing Song... and I totally think that you could take your 1 mth old to SS. I took Todd at 8 months and again at 1 1/2 years, and he did great. At 1 month, your little baby will probably just sleep through the whole thing, unless he/she is hungry. And feeding is super easy whether nursing (think... in the dark - no biggie)or bottle. Go Siggies!! I like your popsicle idea!
Man, I'm way behind on reading blogs. Congratulations on your pregnancy! We must be due around the same time. My due date is Jan. 19th. I will keep you in my prayers - all of those feelings are totally normal and okay! And please girl, eat all you want. You are beautiful!
AL-Hang in there, I'm sorry you are having a hard day. I love you and appreciate your honesty. By the way, 2 lbs. is okay-you are supposed to gain weight in a healthy pregnancy, but I am sorry it is no fun. It must feel so wierd to have so little control over what is going on with your body.
DO NOT worry about that weight...you have to gain weight. And contrary to what some people say, most of the extra weight comes off so quickly after the baby is born.
I can relate...so many times I get caught up in being sad, when I have so many blessings to be happy for! Thanks for being honest!
Amie gave me a bag of books to take on the cruise!
